Conference News editor Martin Fullard was invited to moderate an MPI digital event panel as part of the UK and Ireland chapter’s contribution to Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID).
Fullard was joined by MPI UK&I president elect Ciara Feely, Simon Hughes, vice-chair of the Business Visits and Events Partnership, Ian Cummings, global vice president at CWT and Sam McNeill, general manager at Song Division.
The interactive panel discussed government attitudes around the world to the events industry in the face of Covid-19, how the industry will likely need to re-think going forward and that proactive selling is fundamental to survival at this time.
