As the events industry continues to recover, more and more conferences and events are returning to Manchester. Having played host to the Conservative Party Annual Conference in early October, the city will welcome the CIPD Annual Conference & Exhibition at the start of November, firmly marking the opening of the conference season. Greater Manchester is a city-region that thrives on major conferences and events, so is thrilled to be able to welcome back both organisers and delegates to the city.
Over the last few months, Manchester Convention Bureau (MCB) has been working hard on developing the new Delegate Welcome program, which will be fully launched over the next couple of months. The program will provide an enhanced offering for both organisers and delegates, with organisers offered support on event promotion and delegate boosting. For delegates, MCB understands how important it is that your delegates feel a strong welcome from Manchester, so the program will provide welcome messaging across the city, including on transport partners. It will also offer visitor information and details on health and wellness whilst in the city, alongside information and offers of things to see and do whilst here.
Event planners will be pleased to hear that Manchester continues to offer something new for organisers, as the city’s skyline changes and grows every day. Over the next six months, several new hotels are scheduled to open including the Moxy Manchester City Hotel. This 146-bedroom hotel situated in the heart of Spinningfields will see guests enjoy a complimentary cocktail on check-in. The four-star Maldron Hotel Manchester City Centre is scheduled to open in Q1 2022 adjacent to the latest large scale mixed-use development, Circle Square. The hotel will offer 278 stylish bedrooms, a bar, restaurant, and a suite of meeting rooms. Finally, opening in January 2022, the newly built Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre will offer 329 air-conditioned rooms alongside a dedicated meeting room floor, with 5 state-of-the-art meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology.
Of course, we couldn’t talk about Manchester as a conference destination without mentioning the city’s convention centre, Manchester Central. With a busy few months ahead, Manchester Central is also set to launch its new ‘Incubator’ initiative to find the event of the future. The initiative will offer businesses the opportunity to bring their next big idea to life with the backing of Manchester’s iconic events venue. With its location in the heart of Great Britain, getting your delegates to Manchester couldn’t be easier. The direct service from London Euston on Avanti West Coast, offers event planners even more options. From booking a private carriage with its own concierge and host, to on-board events and carriage branding, the journey can now be part of your event. In addition, Avanti launched their Standard Premium class on its Pendolino trains offering roomier seats, more space, and a guaranteed table.
