The co-founder of independent brand engagement agency, XSEM has been appointed to the board of Meeting Needs.

Meeting Needs is a foundation that awards life-changing grants to small charities with funds raised from within the meetings and events industry.

XSEM has had a long-standing partnership with Meeting Needs and this appointment formalises that.

Dan Bardgett, co-founder of XSEM said: “Meeting Needs has earned its place at the centre of the events industry as an incredible vehicle for those operating in our industry to give something back, so I hope I can continue to shape that mission for them into the future.”

He added: “Our mission at XSEM is to make people happy. Whether that’s our clients, their customers, our team, or with the community around us, making people happy is in tune with Meeting Needs’ own purpose too. Having the privilege of now supporting my fellow board members, and the wider Meeting Needs team is a tremendous honour.”

Most recently, Meeting Needs has helped fund a community programme in Aldershot that will help feed 80 families locally for the next six months. At the same time, it has also made a substantial donation to a school in Malawi, where 98% of the pupils are orphans, to help improve facilities at the school.

Originally founded in 2003 as a charity, Meeting Needs restructured its operations two years ago as a foundation, better reflecting and enabling its chosen support of the varied charities, causes and community projects.
