Cambridgeshire/Berdshire-based Wyboston Lakes Conference and Leisure Centre, which has recently invested £3.5m in its facilities, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a family fun day on 1 September for conference and training clients.
Wyboston Lakes has grown to be the UK’s largest privately owned single-site residential conference and training centre.
While elevating the standards of its conference and training facilities, the investment has given the venue new opportunities in the leisure sector. The most significant development is the venue’s Y Spa, which was opened last November and complements such facilities as its 18-hole golf course.
Set on a private estate, the business was originally created by Potton Construction Developments, which formally adopted the identity of Wyboston Lakes Ltd in 2003. The original conference and training activity is based around two dedicated venues, Wyboston Lakes Executive Centre and Wyboston Lakes Training Centre.
Business and leisure clients, employees and local residents are being invited to the anniversary event, which begins at 1pm on 1 September and centres on the venue’s lakeside Wateont Restaurant & Grill, located at Wyboston Lakes Hotel.
“With our recent investment, we have entered the most exciting time in 30 years, and we’ll be sharing our celebrations with a wide spectrum of people who are contributing to our continuing progress,” says Wyboston Lakes’ MD Mark Jones.
In addition to its two specialist conference and training centres, the third venue on the 350-acre Wyboston Lakes site is the 103-room Wyboston Lakes Hotel.
