The upcoming Ministers’ Summit at the World Travel Market (WTM) will bring together over 50 global tourism leaders to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies can transform the tourism industry.
Scheduled for 6 November at ExCeL London, the event will be held in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
This year’s summit, moderated by a BBC journalist, will examine the potential of AI to enhance travel experiences and streamline processes, while also addressing the ethical implications and challenges, such as ensuring equitable access to these technologies. Discussions will align with WTM’s TravelPower campaign, which highlights the tourism industry’s capacity to drive positive change.
Juliette Losardo, exhibition director of WTM London, said: “There has already been much debate around AI and other emerging technologies and how best to harness their potential for positive change. Therefore, it is timely that the opportunities it affords our industry are discussed at the highest level as we continue to contribute to a positive future for the tourism sector.”
WTM London 2024 will take place from 5-7 November.
