The ninth Scottish Hotel Awards 2012 took place at The Thistle Glasgow on 20 May, with the ceremony designed to recognise and reward the highest standards, individually and corporately, and celebrate excellence and achievement.
Awards included Conference Hotel of the Year won by Beardmore Hotel, Business Hotel of the Year won by Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow, and The Chester Residence winning Scottish Hotel of the Year.
Macdonald Hotels and Resorts won five accolades including the Group Breakfast of the Year Award, while Head Chef from the Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa in North Bertwick, John Paul McLachlan, won Scottish Hotel Chef of the Year.
“We are all extremely proud of these achievements as they reflect the hard work and dedication from not only those individuals, but across all of our 14 hotels in Scotland,” says Sales and Marketing Director at Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, Ruaridh Macdonald.

- Budget Hotel of the Year – Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre
- Premium Budget Hotel of the Year – CitizenM Glasgow
- Good Value Award – Loch Kinord Hotel (Woodland Lodges)
- Business Hotel of the Year Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow
- Business and Leisure Hotel Award – Menzies Glasgow Hotel
- Conference Hotel of the Year – Beardmore Hotel
- Brand Hotel of the Year – Holiday Inn Aberdeen West
