VisitScotland Business Events has announced the appointment of John Cardie as its new assistant business events manager.

Cardie has previously worked at VisitScotland Business Events as its marketing manager, Europe in 2001. His previous placements also include manager, Switzerland for VisitBritain, director of operations and customer care UK at Abbey Ireland & UK alongside multiple roles at Kuoni Group.

In his new role, Cardie will develop VisitScotland’s international approach in the corporate and incentive segments as it moves towards a policy-driven model.

John Cardie, assistant business events manager, VisitScotland Business Events, said: “It’s great to be back with the VisitScotland Business Events team after 17 years away. I’m delighted to see that the organisation has gone from strength to strength with some fantastic campaigns including ‘Legends’, and continues to be a market leader in the UK business events field.”

Neil Brownlee, head of business events, VisitScotland, added: “We’re delighted to welcome John back to VisitScotland. He has a wealth of experience in the sector which will further complement the skills of our business events team. We’re looking forward to developing our international strategy in the corporate and incentive segment and utilising John’s experience and insights that he has gained over the years working in the sector.”
