The membership consortium for academic venues, Venuemasters, has followed up last week’s announcement of Natalie Williamson as its new general manager, with more appointments and news of a rebrand.

Other key appointments at the consortium include a new chair of the board – Steve Crawford from College Court at the University of Leicester, plus a new sales and membership director – Rachael Bartlett, former head of sales and marketing at Warwick Conferences, who joins the team as part of a partnership with Paje Consultancy.

Commenting on his appointment Steve Crawford, conference centre director at University of Leicester, said: “I’m delighted to become chair following Natalie’s appointment to general manager. It’s an exciting time to join, and the building blocks for the future are all in place to really make our mark on the academic venue sector.”

Crawford added that he was “delighted” to welcome Rachel Bartlett (pictured) as sales and membership director, adding that Paje Consultancy was working with the board to put the new plans in place. “These appointments will make a real difference to our plans for growth. We are in very exciting times for the organisation.”

Other initiatives include a new brand identity, learning and development programme and a new website for spring 2018.

Williamson commented: “The ideas and changes I’d like to make are beginning to take shape, and there’s real momentum building up. The annual Conference and AGM will take place 7-8 February 2018 at College Court, Leicester, where I plan to reveal the new identity, website and some new initiatives.”
