As part of The eVent: The UK Summit 2017, independent charity Historic Royal Palaces partnered with London & Partners and 2B UK to put together a four-day event programme for US buyers across five of its palaces.
The Tower of London hosted the main Gala dinner for the summit, welcoming 20 North American buyers plus suppliers.
Following the Gala dinner, the buyers split into two groups for the rest of the programme, with half heading to Scotland and the others remaining in London for the Historic Royal Palaces’ Palace Pursuits programme.
The programme included a visit to Banqueting House and a drinks reception at Kensington Palace.
Hampton Court Palace was the centre of attention the following day as buyers enjoyed an exclusive rooftop tour before lunch in William III’s Little Banqueting House on the River Thames.
There was also a dinner at Kew Palace.
Milan Thakrar, business development manager, Historic Royal Palaces, said: “It was fantastic to be involved in The eVent…The idea behind our Palace Pursuits programme was to allow buyers the time to explore each of our venues, and experience their incredible history for themselves, as well as demonstrating the many different ways the venues can be utilised for events.
“It was also an opportunity to communicate our charitable cause to buyers. As an independent charity which receives no Crown or government funding, all income raised from commercial activities such as corporate and private event hire is reinvested in conservation, public access and educational activities, so present and future generations can continue to enjoy the palaces for years to come.”
