UKEVENTS, the umbrella organisation for the UK events industry, will host an exhibition in Parliament to showcase the impact of events on the UK economy. The exhibition will take place in the Upper Waiting Hall of the Palace of Westminster from 3-6 February 2025.

The exclusive event provides a platform for Members of Parliament to network with event industry leaders and help them understand the vital role of events in driving economic growth and community development.

The event will aim to develop a National Events Strategy and introduction of tax incentives to fuel the growth of events in the UK. In addition, alignment of business events with key industrial strategies and expansion of VisitBritain’s successful events growth programme will also be topics covered at the exhibition.

The exhibition is set to spotlight key industry achievements, including:

  • £61.653bn annual economic contribution from customer spend
  • Over 700,000 jobs in the creative, hospitality and visitor economy supported across the country
  • More than £200bn in trade, inward investment, science, innovation and knowledge exchange facilitated

Glenn Bowdin, chair of UKEVENTS, commented on the importance of face-to-face engagement with parliamentarians: “direct interaction with MPs is vital for our industry’s future. This exhibition allows us to showcase the events sector’s significant economic impact and its role in promoting innovation, attracting international visitors, and creating jobs.”

Bowdin added: “by engaging with parliamentarians in person, we can effectively communicate our industry’s needs and potential, ensuring that the UK remains a leading destination for hosting world-class events.”
