The Trinity Quays Hotel and Conference Centre in Hull has received planning consent with building expected to start on site by mid-2013 and a completion date of mid-2015.
The hotel and 1,000-seat conference centre, designed by London-based Claridge Architects, will provide a boost to the regional economy and offer a new visual landmark for the city at 87m tall.
Commissioned by property entrepreneur, Tim Fulstow, the new hotel has been designed from the outset to accommodate the operational requirements of an international four-star hotel operator, with whom a management contract is expected to be confirmed this summer.
“We are delighted with the unanimous planning approval of the Trinity Quays Hotel and Conference Centre and we are looking forward to making this contribution to the city a reality,” says Founding Director of Claridge Architects, Marcus Claridge.
Following the Green Port Hull initiative, it is hoped the centre will attract renewable energy sector firms to the city.
