The Venues Collection, a portfolio of five residential conference and training venues, has announced that it has won gold in the ‘Sustainability Award for Venues’ at the Conference & Event Awards 2025.

The accolade recognises venues that are not only embedding sustainability into their core operations but are also demonstrating leadership and innovation in environmental responsibility.

The Venues Collection has taken a transformational approach, with trailblazing initiatives, and measurable impact across its five venues.

Judges praised the group, saying: “The Venues Collection sets a new benchmark for sustainability in the events industry with outstanding, innovative initiatives across multiple venues.”

Sustainability is at the heart of TVC’s ethos, driven by its Future First Charter – a framework that sets clear, trackable goals across three core pillars: People Pledge, Food Focus, and Enriching Environments.

Among the achievements celebrated were:

  • 100% renewable electricity usage and zero waste to landfill across all sites
  • 1 million kWh of renewable energy generated annually
  • The UK’s first venue group to remove dairy from all desserts.
  • Carbon-labelling on all menus, helping organisers make informed, sustainable choices
  • On-site composting, biodiversity initiatives, and the planned rollout of solar-powered EV chargers
  • A culture of staff training, client education, and supply chain collaboration

Joanne Barratt, managing director of The Venues Collection, said: “This award is a testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team. Sustainability isn’t a bolt-on for us – it’s woven into everything we do; from the food we serve to how we power our buildings and educate our clients. We’re proud to lead the way in responsible hospitality and to support our organisers in delivering low-impact, high-quality events.”
