The Natural History Museum has released its 2018 supplier list, which includes 10 new event company names.
Following this summer’s Hintze Hall (pictured) transformation which saw Hope the blue whale installed, the Venue Hire team has welcomed new event suppliers, including Kerb, Seasoned, Floco, Greenleaf, La Freshco, Royal Wedding Services, Sapna, Eclipse, Full Circle and Our Kid Brother to its list. The museum’s team says there were 140 applications, from which the new, 46-strong list was compiled.
The tender process included catering showcases and creative menu tastings during site visits, an analysis of food safety and health and safety standards, demonstrating experience working in similar historic venues and client references.
Nigel Mullins, senior operations manager at the Natural History Museum said: “Our list is carefully curated to include suppliers we feel are ahead of the curve, offering services that capture clients’ imagination and keep pushing the boundaries of what the Museum’s event spaces can offer.
“The newly-added suppliers further extend our catering and production capabilities to suit all event styles, sizes and budgets. From Kerb’s street food pop-ups to the latest ground-breaking AV technology, the newly-added suppliers will perfectly bolster those firm favourites we’ve worked with since first opening our doors.”
The list of suppliers will be in place until the end of 2018, catering for intimate dinners for 30 in the museum’s galleries through to large-scale sit-down dinners in Hintze Hall.
Robert Wetherell, head of Venue Hire adds: “2017 has been an incredible year growing the events team, offering clients a jaw-dropping new whale skeleton backdrop in our largest event space plus the launch of new scientific ‘Talks and Tours’ and festive packages. We look forward to building on this success with a passionate team of new event suppliers alongside us, delivering world-class experiences for our guests.”
Eclipse director of sales and marketing Jamie Castle, added: “We are very proud to have been selected to work with the Natural History Museum as one of its new business partners. It is both a prestigious and unique venue space and we’re excited to be working with the venue team to deliver exceptional events.”
