The Telegraph confirmed the appointment of Ruth Carter as managing director of its events business. She replaces Damian Norman who leaves the business after five years.
Carter has more than 19 years industry experience and has been responsible for events across a wide range of sectors and was founder and CEO of UBM Conferences, a division of UBM plc, where she led its expansion in Europe and the US, as well as establishing operations in China, India and Brazil.
She joined UBM from EMAP where she was managing director of EMAP Conferences, a business she successfully launched and grew during her 7-year tenure.
