Exhibition Road institutions the V&A, Science Museum and the Natural History Museum joined forces last night (19 November) for their second annual showcase event, Strictly SW7.
StrictlySW7 debuted last year as a celebration of the £28m transformation of Exhibition Road giving the event world the chance to come together to experience an evening of entertainment and food at the three venues.
Attendees included industry professionals from JP Morgan, Amazon, American Express, Emap and the Guardian.
The 150 attending guests were divided into three groups, each starting at a different museum and moving between venues simultaneously at two intervals during the evening. Each group got the chance to experience the diversity of the various event spaces at the three venues, as the museums showcased separate spaces for the different stages of the night.
Guests at the Natural History Museum were able to enjoy the reception in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition space, while the next groups moved on to the Central Hall for the main course and the dessert. The Science Museum held the reception in the Exploring Space, the main course in the Making the Modern World gallery, and finally ending the night with dessert in the Wellcome Wing. The reception at the V&A was held in the newly-renovated Fashion Galleries, while dinner and dessert was served in the venue’s entertaining space, the Dome.
At the end of the evening, a golden goodie bag was handed out to one lucky guest at each venue, containing a complete set of special exhibition tickets for the three museums.
“Once again, the event was a great success, exceeding all expectations,” says Events Manager at the Natural History Museum, Joanne Wood. “The guests were treated to an unforgettable night. We would like to thank all the suppliers for helping us deliver such an exceptional evening.”
