The Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards has announced the nominees for its 16th annual awards.
Taking place on 8 June at St. Mary’s Stadium, home to Southampton Football Club, the awards aim to recognise the best UK football stadia venues and raise the profile of matchday hospitality and specialist events teams.
Approximately 350 guests from over 40 clubs will attend the awards and experience a fine dining three course menu, an awards ceremony as well as an exclusive onsite after party.
Collette Salmon, chair person, Stadium Experience, said: “Stadium teams work tirelessly, striving to bring excellence in their venues for both matchday hospitality and non-matchday events. These awards recognise and celebrate all of this hard work and commitment.”
In the spotlight…
There will be a total of 14 award categories, with a Bronze, Silver and Winner award for each presented. All awards are independently judged by a panel of industry experts.
The categories include:
- Outstanding Contribution Award
- Best Retail Catering Award
- Matchday Sales Team of the Year Award
- Non-Matchday Sales Team of the Year Award
- Best Stadium Events Venue Award
- Non-Matchday Mystery Shopper Award
- Operations Team of the Year Award
- Chef Team of the Year Award
- Visiting Rugby Directors Award
- Visiting Football Directors Award
- Matchday Hospitality Award (Small Stadium, Medium Stadium, Large Stadium)
- Overall Matchday Hospitality Award
Conference News will be sponsoring the Visiting Rugby Directors Award and editor Cameron Roberts will be judging this year’s nominees.
Commenting on the event, Roberts said: “The Stadium Experience Awards are a great showcase for the great work that stadia have demonstrated over the last 12 months. I’ll be looking for a real creative edge; excellence in events and experiences; and how central delegate/visitor experience is to the nominees.
