Southport has gone live with a new ebrochure aimed specifically at planners of conferences and events.

The ebrochure includes destination information, customer interviews, video tours and a fully-interactive 3D floor plan of the town’s flagship venue; the 1,600-delegate capacity Southport Theatre and Convention Centre.

“Outside of visiting the destination, this is the most comprehensive guide possible for planners of large meetings and events to gain insight into our great destination,” says Steve Christian, Sefton Council’s Tourism marketing Manager.

The guide can be found in the ’Our Support’ section of Southport’s conference website: visitsouthport.com/southport-conferences

Christian tells CN that new event wins won this year for future years include conferences for the Keep Fit Association, Institute of Chemical Engineers, BACCN – British Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Southport has also set up a Business Tourism Steering Group to ensure the town works together to co-ordinate stakeholder efforts to secure business for the North West resort town.

The group is private sector led (and chaired) and consists of venues and hoteliers, with ‘smaller property’ representation via Southport Hoteliers Association.

Sefton Council’s Business Tourism Team is also represented in the Steering Group, which is chaired by Enda Rylands, GM of the four-star Ramada Plaza Hotel.
