St Albans-based conference hotel, Sopwell House, has undergone a series of refurbishments to the value of £2m including updates to the reception area, cocktail lounge, spa, terrace bar and 30 of the hotel’s 129 bedrooms. The final renovation is due for completion in early September.

The newly-revamped meeting facilities include updates for the hotel’s four small function suites, which have been kitted out with new décor, carpets, furniture and equipment including 80” LED TVs.

Events held at the hotel have access to complimentary Wi-Fi and parking, a dedicated conference host and a walled garden for outside activities. Of its 21 meeting rooms, the largest space, St Albans, has a capacity of 380 delegates theatre-style, with two suites, Boudicca and Offa, catering for up to 180 delegates each theatre-style.

The bedroom renovations pave the way for two new room categories at the property: an Executive Suite with Balcony and the Executive Bedroom. Facilities in these rooms include new marble bathrooms, king size beds, boutique design and LCD TVs with Sky HD.

“Following a long planning process, it is an exciting time for our existing and potential clients to enjoy our improved facilities and services,” says Marleen Mason, Director of Sales at Sopwell House.
