Sodexo Prestige’s London catering staff have been enrolled into a Barista School, held monthly at its coffee merchants, United Coffee.

Sodexo’s coffee outlets serve only Fairtrade, organic and Rain Forest alliance certified coffee supplied to them by United Coffee and the division has also launched the ’premier cru bean’, which will be sold exclusively across the Sodexo Prestige restaurants, offices and event venues including Churchill War Rooms.

Sodexo Prestige staff will be taught about the short shelf life of a bean, how they can lose freshness rapidly and to counteract this, and by enrolling all catering staff into the Barista School, Sodexo hopes to ensure that only high quality coffee is produced.

Across Sodexo’s London sites, all coffee machines will be calibrated to produce a shot of coffee containing 18 grams meaning each customer gets more coffee per shot without any increase in price.
