Hertford and London-based creative agency Smyle Group has upgraded its annual forecast at the half-year point of its financial year, forecasting a 40% leap in turnover, from £17m in the previous year to £24m for its financial year ending 31 March 2018.

At the beginning of the year Smyle says it budgeted for modest growth to an annual target of £19m for this year, as it embedded its on-oing investments including a 25% increase in staff numbers, which has brought the total workforce to 70 across the business. The agency also launched an office in Florida in the United States.

Smyle reports winning significant new clients across experiential projects at a number of public cultural and sporting events, as well as activations at shows including Mobile World Congress and IFA.

Current live projects include a major conference in the United States and filming projects in Brazil and Thailand. This has contributed to Smyle already having £22m confirmed business for delivery this year, smashing the annual target after only six months.

The growth has given the green light to expansion of the HQ ‘Country House’ in Hertford, with the agency planning to double its capacity to 30,000 sq. ft. and allowing for an increase in the office, technical, scenic and warehouse spaces.

Rick Stainton, Smyle Group’s MD comments: “This forecast upgrade on what 2017 is likely to deliver is pure testament to our amazing clients and our whole team’s consistent best in class commitment to delivering excellence for them.

They are making Smyle Group stronger by the day and underlining clear progress on our mission to be the best creative agency in our industry.”
