WATCH: Gee Mann talks to CN at International Confex about ibookedin.
Michael Hirst, chairman of the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) and deputy chairman of the Events Industry Board, was on hand at International Confex for the official launch of the new ibookedin venue-finding service.
The BVEP chairman helped founders Gee and Kiran Mann to smash old school telephones on the show stand as the so-called Global Distribution System for meetings and event booking and fulfilment was launched.
Ibookedin provides a three click/swipe/tap approach in the mould of online retailers, in a process designed to make the search, selection and booking of venue space simple and speedy.
Hirst said: “ibookedin is an excellent example of the innovative approach to planning and booking of events in the sector and fits perfectly with the innovation and opportunity agenda that we are currently pursuing in the BVEP and the Events Industry Board.”
ibookedin says it is providing a market place where space is traded and drives business into properties with availability and for event planners and meetings bookers it delivers a simple, timesaving and cost effective approach to venue search and booking.
Gee Mann said: “We are really delighted and grateful that Michael helped to us to officially launch ibookedin at Confex, where we had a huge interest from both event planners and venues. Confex has been the perfect base for the launch and we also had a second stand in the Event Tech area where our developers demonstrated the application.”
The service integrates venue availability through connections to venue property management systems using licensed connectivity and cloud apps and puts venues’ space into its online market place.
