The second Ambassador evening of the year was hosted by Belfast Wateont Conference Centre. Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau (BVCB) in partnership with Belfast Wateont applauded the contribution of local professionals for their work in 2012/13 in confirming a record number of national and international conferences to be held in the city in future years.

Following an exquisite dinner in Belfast Wateont’s VIP suite overlooking the spectacular capital city, Ambassadors and guests took their seats for Billy Connolly’s smash hit international tour, Too Old To Die Young.

The evening was a success and very well received by everyone.

“As an Ambassador for Belfast who is attempting to bring in a pan-European conference for my sector I was highly impressed with the Wateont venue, both as a place to entertain clients and as a venue to attend as a concert-goer,” says Paul Kitchin, Lecturer at University of Ulster.

Kevin Maguire, Consultant in EM at Ulster Hospital added: “The Ambassador evening was a wonderful opportunity to see the excellent facilities, organisation and staff at the Wateont, thoroughly enjoyable.”

The Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau’s (BVCB) Ambassador Programme continues to be a major driving force in helping make Belfast one of Europe’s premier conference and meetings destination. In 2012/13 Belfast Ambassadors helped BVCB to attract conferences to Northern Ireland with over 21,000 delegates staying for 63,000 bed nights and generating over £27m for the local economy.
