The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has signed up to the Association of Event Venues’ (AEV) eGuide, continuing its support for industry initiatives that promote responsible health and safety and operational excellence for events.
The eGuide was updated earlier this year and aims to bring together guidance for achieving common standards of health, safety and operational planning, management and onsite conduct for events.
“The AEV have worked closely with senior professionals in the industry to produce the eGuide,” says the Sales Director of the SECC, Ben Goedegebuure. “It’s an excellent document that helps us constantly review and improve our in-house procedures.”
AEV Director Chris Skeith adds: “We are delighted that the SECC has become the 14th venue to adopt the eGuide. The SECC underwent an incredibly detailed analysis of the eGuide spanning six months to rationalise the document against their existing procedures. Not only did this put them in a position to adopt the eGuide with a smooth transition but it served as a useful audit of the entire document.”
