The SEC (Scottish Event Campus) has appointed Jonathan Kemp from AG Barr and Vivien Currie of The Merchant House to its board.

Jonathan Kemp, AG Barr’s commercial director, has held positions as a researcher at the House of Commons and gained experience with brands like IRN-BRU and Rubicon. He also teaches a course on “brand building” to senior marketing students at the University of Strathclyde.

He stated, “The SEC plays a vital role in Scotland’s economy, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support its ongoing success in this role.”

Currie serves as a director of social enterprise The Merchants House of Glasgow and equestrian centre The Royal Stables in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Currie’s career has included positions such as CEO of Ascot and Hamilton Park racecourses, non-executive director of the British Horseracing Authority, vice chairman of the Racecourse Association, and part owner and chief executive of Livingston Football Club.

Additionally, Currie made history as the first woman on the Scottish Football League management committee in its century-long history.

She said: “The SEC is a business I have known and admired for some time, so I’m delighted to take a seat on the board to help further the organisational goals set out by Peter Duthie and his team.”

Peter Duthie, chief executive officer at the SEC, said“The experience and perspectives Jonathan and Vivien bring are as extensive as they are diverse, and we’re hugely excited to work with them as valued members of our board.”
