For the third year in a row, Lanarkshire hosted the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) Annual Conference at the Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort on 17 – 18 November 2011.
Themed ‘Visitor Experience – Exceeding Expectations’, speakers discussed the various elements which can impact on an attraction’s overall visitor experience. A number of breakout sessions provided delegates with an opportunity to interact with other parties and experts, and an awards ceremony at the Gala Dinner celebrated the best visitor attractions in Scotland. The conference closed with a keynote speech from Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, on the Scottish Government’s vision and strategy for tourism.
