The Royal Television Society (RTS) is returning to the Barbican, for a series of events through to the end of 2012.
The RTS last used the Barbican for corporate events in September 2011.
The Barbican’s Head of Sales, Samme Allen, says: “The Royal Television Society’s decision to return to the Barbican is a major coup, and we’re pleased to be welcoming them back. This new business win is recognition of the Barbican team’s experience in making events such as those being organised by the RTS at the Barbican a success. It is a very exciting time for us following the launch of Barbican Events. All our clients, including the RTS, will benefit from the incorporation of the perming arts within the corporate environment.”
Simon Albury, Chief Executive of the Royal Television Society, adds: “Before returning to the Barbican for 2012, we undertook an exhaustive review of alternative London venues and it became clear that the Barbican was the most cost effective for an event with the scale and technical requirements of the RTS Digital World Conference. We are also delighted that we can stage the RTS Student Television Awards again at the Barbican. Its requirements for small workshops and a smaller theatre are very different to those of our international conferences but the Barbican is able to match them.”
The Barbican is Europe’s largest combined conference and arts venue, capable of hosting up to 2,000 delegates.
