The Royal College of Surgeons in London showcased its event spaces and catering, provided by Ampersand, at its open afternoon on 30 July 2013.

Over 150 event professionals were welcomed with champagne and nibbles in the Surgeon’s Library, the only part of the building that survived the Second World War bombings. A guided tour of the Edwardian venue followed, including the unique Hunterian Museum, state-of-the art lecture theatres and the large Edward Lumley Hall.

The Webb Johnson Hall was the last point of call where guests were treated to a selection of delectable dishes. Menu items included watermelon and duck salad, Holborn High Tea, and fillet of Herefordshire beef with fondant potato, cauliflower and elderflower puree. All dishes were accompanied by homemade lemonade, cocktails and exquisite wine.

Guests departed with goody bags with treats including homemade lemonade, personalised hand sanitizer and exclusive offers.
