The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is celebrating its 500th anniversary year and also being back on the Gold standard.
The London venue has again been awarded BDRC’s VenueVerdict Gold Standard accreditation for a ninth successive year. The accreditation system is based on independent feedback from over 14,500 pieces of event planner feedbacks across more than 350 events venues.
Since it was established by Thomas Linacre, Henry VIII’s physician, who persuaded the king to found a college to regulate the practice of medicine in 1518, the RCP has continued to play a major role in raising standards and shaping public health.
The RCP’s director – facilities & events marketing, Clive Ostler, said the award, “demonstrates our total commitment to delivering the highest quality events and world class customer service. I am hugely proud of what we have achieved and hope that it will encourage many new customers to put their trust in us to design and deliver their perfect event.
“I am especially proud that we have retained our Gold Standard accreditation for the RCP’s 500th anniversary year. 500 years of hosting events is a landmark very few organisations can boast but thanks to the unique nature of the RCP, it can.”
The venue is located in the heart of London’s Regents Park and can cater for events for up to 400 delegates.
During 2017, Ostler said the venue hosted filming for a number of Hollywood films, fashion shows during London Fashion Week, BBQs, parties, as well as hundreds of other meetings and events.
