Event industry golf day In the Rough 2017 raised £6,000 for Macmillan and Sparks charities, according to organiser the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA).
The money raised will be divided equally between Macmillan Cancer Care and Sparks, the childrens’ medical charity.
Andrew Harrison, ESSA director said he was “thrilled” the event had raised over £6,000. “It’s always worthwhile to take a moment while we are enjoying the sunshine and fun, to remember that we are also raising money to help these organisations provide much-needed support and assistance to cancer patients and vital research into childhood illnesses,” he said.
“We will be distributing the funds to both charities before the end of the year and look forward to raising more in 2018,” Harrison added.
And there are already plans for next year’s event. In the Rough 2018 is to be held at The Celtic Manor Resort, South Wales on 19 July 2018.
