RenewableUK, the UK’s leading not-for-profit renewable energy trade association, and Scottish Renewables have announced a three-year deal to host its second largest annual event, Floating Offshore Wind, at Northeast Scotland’s live events venue, P&J Live in Aberdeen in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Floating Offshore Wind, which has been hosted at the venue five times previously, is a meeting place for current and future players in the global floating wind industry. With attendees from 29 countries, 183 exhibitors, 200+ speakers and a 52% increase in delegate numbers, 2023 was a record-breaking show which the organisers hope to surpass during this year’s event on 9 and 10 October.
P&J Live’s head of association sales, Steven Daun said: “The ambition is to create the world’s leading floating offshore wind event, relevant since the UK is world-leading in this technology, and the city holds legacy as the energy capital of Europe with excellent supply chain – the perfect platform to showcase UK, Scottish and local businesses. P&J Live is the ideal venue to cater for their ever-growing needs, employing its flexible nature to Floating Offshore Wind’s event spaces and adapting accordingly to accommodate the client’s requirements.”

Laura Wilson, head of Aberdeen Convention Bureau, said: “The event itself is expected to deliver approximately £823,000 of direct spend by delegates and organisers per conference, supporting hotels and the wider hospitality supply chain across the region. We are delighted to welcome this event back to Aberdeen in 2024, 2025, and 2026.”
