The Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) has opened registration for members to attend its HBAA Annual Forum, which takes place this year on 5-6 September 2013 at Twickenham Stadium, London.
The evening awards ceremony and networking dinner will be hosted at the Radisson Blu Edwardian London Heathrow Hotel.
This year’s Forum carries the theme ‘Made to Measure’, with tailored content for the membership, including plenary sessions with industry experts, followed by afternoon streamed sessions for agent and venue members. On the morning of Friday 6 September, members will participate in one of three learning tracks according to their job roles.
‘Made to Measure’ will also include an exclusive reveal of the results of the ‘UK Accommodation and Meetings Trends’ survey by Liz Hall, Head of Hospitality and Leisure Research at PwC, commissioned in partnership with the HBAA. There will also be a panel discussion featuring industry leaders and the event will conclude with father and son Tony and Jason Potter from management practice Braveagle exploring how companies and individuals can develop commercial and practical strategies.
The evening networking dinner will include the announcement of the winners of four awards: HBAA Accommodation Agent of the Year; HBAA Meetings Agent of the Year; Account Manager of the Year; and The John Rees Community Award.
Chris Parnham, Chairman of the HBAA (pictured), said: “In a world where more demands are placed on our time and contribution, it is the responsibility of an event organiser to make sure their event is meaningful, relevant and delivers value back to its audience. We’ve started seeing some of the industry’s brightest young talent attend our events, and this year’s streamed sessions will cater to individuals making their way swiftly up the career ladder, and help them develop their skills.
“We’ll be announcing several initiatives which will ensure our members can make the most of their relationship with us. The HBAA’s Annual Forum is an educational event, but is also one of the main occasions within the year that our membership comes together to network and build connections.”
For the Forum, the HBAA has launched SMS communications and an App in association with mobile strategy providers Interacterable. These initiatives will deliver event information to attendees, and provide a channel for immediate personal engagement before, during and after the Forum.
