Four hundred guests took a trip around the world at Radisson Blu Edwardian, Heathrow’s showcase with the hotel’s conference and banqueting rooms transformed into countries, with matching food and music.
Each guest received an airline ticket on arrival which was stamped as they visited each ’country’, to be put into a draw for three travel prizes – a trip to New York, which was won by Margaret Rose of Gilead Sciences.
The new Oceanic Restaurant was turned into the USA (mini hot dogs and burgers and a Frank Sinatra style singer); the new Bijou Bar was Moroccan with mojitos; The Newbury Suite became an English Country Garden (complete with talking box hedges, scones and a mountain of traditional sweets). Then guests headed to Asia in the Atrium, where chefs cooked with woks and sushi was served in tBento boxes, before guests danced the night away in the Commonwealth Suite.
