Berkshire venue Lillibrooke Manor opened its doors to the public as well as the Prime Minister last week to host a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning which saw £2,000 raised for the charity.

Hosted in Lillibrooke Manor’s Great Barn, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning drew 500 visitors, including local businesses showcasing everything from fine jewellery, books, skincare products to Christmas gifts.

The barns of the 15th century venue in Maidenhead have seen some big recent investment to appeal to the wider event organiser community.

Prime Minister Theresa May is the MP for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and commented that the Great Barn provided an “ideal setting” for the event.

Val Pearson, MD for owners Heritage Venues commented: “We were absolutely delighted to support Macmillan in its nationwide coffee morning and we are honoured to have the support of the Prime Minster at our event. The coffee morning was a great success and I am very happy to say that, together, we have raised £2,000 in support of an incredibly worthy cause”.

Pearson continued: “Lillibrooke Manor is the perfect location for weddings, parties and corporate events but it was a real pleasure to share its important local heritage with our neighbours who had not had the opportunity to come to Lillibrooke before.  Now that we have the stamp of approval from the Prime Minister, and such a positive response from visitors, we are very keen to hold more events like this to really support the community in the future”.
