The British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD), a dental organisation in the field of prosthodontics, has confirmed its annual conference at P&J Live.

The conference will take place from 10-11 March 2022 and its theme will be ‘challenging the dogma in prosthodontics’.

It is expected to welcome dentists from all over the UK to debate recent advances in the fields of fixed, removable, implant and maxillofacial prosthodontics.

The BSSPD has a membership of around 500, and is open to dentists, doctors and scientists with an interest in prosthodontics.

Dr. Dean Barker, BSSPD president of Aberdeen Dental Hospital & Institute of Dentistry, said: “I am delighted to be hosting this meeting in Aberdeen in 2022. P&J Live is one of the UK’s newest conference and exhibition centres, with wonderful facilities. After the last 18 months, delegates will be assured of a warm welcome and the venue’s COVID compliant status and recognition will help to ensure a safe return to more normal times.

“Although the Granite City is towards the top of the map, Aberdeen’s role as the Oil & Gas Capital of Europe means that it is extremely well connected with frequent flights and direct rail links connecting all parts of the UK. We are lucky to have secured travel discounts with various air and rail companies to help attract delegates to the north-east of Scotland.”

Kim Stephen, head of sales, conferences, meetings and banqueting at P&J Live, added: “We are delighted to welcome The British Society of Prosthodontics annual conference to our venue in Aberdeen next year. This is the first time the Society has hosted their conference at P&J Live and look forward to showcasing our venue and the wider region to visitors from all over the UK.”
