NHS PCC Events has won accreditation from sensory awareness
experts coHearentVision.
The sensory awareness accreditation confirms the event
organiser has the knowledge and skills to respond to the needs of visually or
hearing impaired people attending conferences, training events or meetings it organises.
PCC
Events’ Operations Manager, Ria Corey says: “We organise around 350 events of all
shapes and sizes each year and we want to ensure every delegate or participant
gets the best out of every event.”
CoHearentVision
worked with PCC Events over several months to train staff in sensory awareness
and recommend changes in event organisation that will benefit sensory-impaired
people.
“At
coHearentVision our primary concern is to enhance the life experiences of
people with any level of sight or hearing loss. Understanding and being aware
of the issues is the vital first step,” says coHearentVision’s Business
Development Manager, Amanda Lowings-Kitchener.
PCC
specialises in events for the NHS and other parts of the public sector.
