Technology supplier Videobuilder has launched a new overlay payment and freeview gateway feature to its existing video widget for event websites.
The new feature allows event organisers to overlay payment and freeview gateways to their filmed seminar video content on their websites.
A credit-card payment gateway can be added to individual videos or entire event inventories and voucher codes can also be created, allowing organisers to reward event attendees with free or reduced rate access to their video while charging non attendees to access the content.
It does involve an existing Videobuilder client creating a PayPal account which can be linked to their Videobuilder account. Once a retail-price has been set and voucher codes created, all specified video will be interrupted at the allotted time, and will only continue on submission of payment or receipt of a voucher code. The organiser keeps all revenue generated.
“Many organisers spend significant sums filming their seminars, and then simply give it way after the event,” says CEO of Videobuilder, Richard Counsell. “Apart from massively devaluing their event content, it encourages delegates to stay away at watch it from the comfort of their office instead.
“Why not reward attendees with exclusive access to filmed content and charge others who failed to show,” he adds.
Upcoming features to be launched include exhibitor video upload, video citizen journalism and video competitions.
Companies using Videobuilder include i2i Events Group, UBM, Clarion and Centaur Media.
