Events agency OrangeDoor has announced it is now a B Corporation.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

During the certification process, applicants are required to reach a benchmark score of over 80.

Commenting on the news, Elizabeth Heron (pictured), CEO and founder, OrangeDoor, said: “We are unbelievably proud to have achieved B Corp Certification. We believe it is one of the most important initiatives of our lifetime and is built on the simple fact that business impacts on, and serves, more than just shareholders – it has an equal responsibility to the community and to the planet.

“We will use it as a framework to power our business behaviours and as a force for good. It will enable us to connect our values to real action. But more importantly it will help us create a kinder approach to our people and partners.”

Agency commitments

To help it become a B Corporation, the agency:

• Expanded its existing employee focused approach

• Explored additional ways to educate and support its partners

• Built a more “collaborative and supportive culture”

• Introduced “employee focused” working and wellbeing practices

• Made environmental improvements that benefited both the business and its clients

• Supported local charities and communities
