Central London conference and events venue, One Wimpole Street,
says it will donate one pound from every dish sold from its bowl food
menus in November and December to Shelter, the housing and homelessness
charity.

“We have chosen Shelter as our charity of choice to support their hard work in helping those who are homeless, are in danger of becoming homeless and who are currently living in bad housing across the UK,” says Operations Director at One Wimpole Street, Nigel Collett. “Their altruistic approach to dealing with the housing crisis we, as a nation, are experiencing, is admirable. With support from individuals and businesses and by campaigning for political change, they are working towards ending the housing crisis for good.”

One Wimpole Street’s bowl food dishes include honey and herb crusted pork tenderloin with peas, broad beans and smoked bacon with calvados sauce and caramelised apples, and for fish fans, char grilled tuna fillet on an orange infused couscous salad of sultana, pomegranate and mixed herbs with a citrus dressing.

Also on offer at One Wimpole Street is the Breakfast Bowl food range, offering scrambled eggs with smoked Scottish salmon and chives, as well as oats with a choice of topping from the Porridge Bar.

Last night (1 November) Conference News attended the International Special Events Society’s (ISES) ISESTalks networking and education event at One Wimpole Street.

Topics of discussion included learning how to demystify SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to improve website traffic and the soon-to-be-launched Sustainable Events Summit, set to be hosted in Victoria Docks’ newly-launched sustainable event space, Crystal Conference Centre. The MD of Smyle, Rick Stainton, who is organising the summit discussed what the event will have on offer when it is held 24 January 2013.
