Event professionals have been invited to take part in the upcoming One Day at Christmas (ODAC) – the event industry’s charitable event for elderly and vulnerable people.
The event will take place on 1 December at ExCeL London, Business Design Centre (London), NEC Birmingham, SEC Glasgow and Farnborough International.
Originally started by Mash Media in 2017 at ExCeL, the event has gathered momentum each year and now takes place across five venues simultaneously throughout the UK. Last year more than 70 event organisations supported ODAC through sponsorship, gifts, and entertainment to bring together those who might otherwise be alone over the festive period.
To take part
Anyone in the industry can get involved in whichever way suits them:
– Donation pledges
Sponsor an individual place for a lonely person to join for £27 – suggested for individuals
Pledge £1,250 to cover food and drinks – suggested for independent organisers
Pledge £5,000 to cover gifts and entertainment for guests
– Volunteers on the day
People can sign up to volunteer at any of the five venues through the website.
