Olympia’s events business has retained its Gold certification from Green Tourism, a globally recognised accreditation body that evidences high standards in sustainability.

The award strengthens the credibility of Olympia’s dedicated sustainability programme, The Grand Plan, affirming its commitment to people, places, and the planet by having its claims authenticated by an independent, third-party auditor.

Undergoing a rigorous assessment process, Olympia’s sustainability practices and initiatives were evaluated against a comprehensive set of criteria that considers the business’ holistic approach to ESG (Environment Social Governance).

This includes an ongoing commitment to: industry-recognised standards and practices, working responsibly, ethically, and sustainably, contributing to the local community, reducing its impact on the environment, and fostering a diverse, equal and inclusive environment for all visitors and staff.

Commenting on the achievement, Siân Richards, head of sustainability at Olympia Events, said: “We’re delighted to retain our Gold rating for another year and share this success with the rest of the industry. It’s great to receive recognition of our ongoing commitment to reduce our environmental footprint and support our local community, reinforcing our position within the events industry as a leader in sustainability.”

This marks the 5th year Olympia has held the Gold rating, the highest level an organisation can attain as a member of Green Tourism.
