Nottingham Conference Centre will host some of the world’s leading spinal experts next month, when the inaugural Nspine Week 2013 takes place 2-8 September.

Run by the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery at Nottingham University Hospital’s Queens Medical Centre, NSpine 2013 has been created to encourage the exchange of knowledge and innovative thinking around spinal surgery.

The week-long conference has 300 delegates confirmed and is worth an estimated £154k in economic impact for the city, the organisers told CN.

Sunday 8 September will see a day dedicated entirely to patients, their relatives and members of the public. Several charities will be running various forums for those involved in a variety of spinal conditions.

NUH’s Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery (CSSS) is a world-renowned centre of excellence in spinal surgery.

Sherief Elsayed from NUH said: “It’s fitting that NSpine is being held in Nottingham which has an international reputation for its pioneering spinal work. This conference is a great opportunity to showcase the good work that happens locally but also for delegates from all over the world to share their expertise, ultimately benefitting patients who need spinal treatment.”

David Randall, Director of Conferencing and Events at Experience Nottinghamshire, said: “Events like NSpine are a perfect example of Nottingham’s know how when it comes to hosting major conferences and events in the fields of medicine and science. We look forward to welcoming delegates from all around the world to this prestigious event.”
