New Twitter directory for event professionals launches

A directory of businesses in the events industry who use Twitter, known as #eventprofs, has been launched today (17 February 2012) on the last day of social media week.
 
The brainchild of Mike Fletcher, business and lifestyle journalist, and Peter Kerwood, Marketing Director of Altitude London, the digital directory is called eventprofsindex.com and will have an international reach.
 
Fletcher and Kerwood hopes this directory helps the community turn online conversation into meaningful business.
 
“Ensuring you’re listed on eventprofsindex.com is a great way to find and follow fellow professionals in the events sector. It is a comprehensive directory of relevant twitter accounts and an important business aid,” Mike Fletcher (Twiiter name @mikeyfletch) said.  
 
Peter Kerwood (@pkerwood) said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this tool to help the event industry engage with the ever growing number eers using Twitter. Bringing together event professionals in one place, means that the industry can connect, interact and engage with each other more easily.”
 
The new website is sponsored by SoAmpd, a collaborative project that uses social media to amplify events, headed up by social media strategist Tiffany St James.

The founders are planning to add features over the next few weeks which will include a leader board of the industry’s most active and best connected users.
