Entrepreneur Elon Musk has reportedly said his staff can cut short bad meetings and unproductive phone calls if they think it could boost production.

Work has temporarily halted at Musk’s Tesla plants in California, USA, for upgrades aimed at increasing output from 2,000 to 6,000 cars per week by the end of June.

A leaked email published by website Elektrek, outlined other ways staff could help streamline operations, and these apparently include walking out of meetings, and ignoring the chain of command and company rules on occasion.

Elektrek claimed Musk called large meetings the “blight of big companies”. If they had to be held, the advice was to keep them short.

“It is not rude to leave, it is rude to make someone stay and waste their time,” the leaked memo said.
