Swiss aviator and UN Goodwill Ambassador Bertrand Piccard is to be the keynote speaker at Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) 2013 European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) in Montreux, Switzerland, 27 to 29 January.
Piccard will give the audience of MPI members his unique perspective on the psychology of life, human communication, teamwork, motivation and pioneering spirit while encouraging attendees to connect with each other in an open dialog of new and innovative ideas.
“Our attendees will be inspired by his story,” said COO and interim CEO of MPI, Cindy D’Aoust. “We believe that face-to-face meetings are the most effective way to connect, exchange ideas, build relationships and grow business. Bertrand’s life experience embodies this philosophy.”
Piccard found fame as a ‘scientist-adventurer’ during his record-breaking non-stop balloon flight around the world. He combines his family’s scientific legacy with a commitment to exploring the great adventures of life. A noted psychiatrist and aeronaut, he is an internationally-renowned public speaker and President of the Winds of Hope humanitarian foundation.
The EMEC is an educational event for meeting and event professionals in the EMEA region. It brings together professionals from the meeting and events industry, academics, business owners, executives and managers.
