Mike Lyons new Exhibition Director for AIBTM

Reed Travel Exhibitions has appointed a new Exhibition Director for its Americas Meetings and Events Exhibition (AIBTM).
 
Well-known and respected meetings and events figure, Mike Lyons will lead AIBTM’s efforts to enhance the show.
 
Lyons, who brings more than 30 years experience to his post with a background including senior level positions with some of the hospitality industry’s best-known names, including Global Events Partners, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and Rosenbluth Travel (now American Express), will replace Steve Knight who left Reed Travel Exhibitions to head The Meetings Show UK, a new event organised by Centaur Exhibitions.

Lyons has served on the boards of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB) and the Association of Destination Management Executives; is actively involved in numerous hospitality industry organisations such as MPI and PCMA; and has been honored by the Philadelphia Chapter of MPI as its Supplier of the Year, among other awards he has earned. He is a former member of the Advisory Board of the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC), and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Temple University in their Event Management Executive Leadership Programme.
 
AIBTM 2013 is to take place 11-13 June at McCormick Place, Chicago, USA.
