Creative agency Smyle is seeing a progression towards “innovative, immersive storytelling activations that people can experience together.”

“The buzz right now is all about the metaverse, but the truth is that it doesn’t exist yet and VR-style experiences at events tend to fall flat as they can isolate rather than connect people,” says Dax Callner, strategy director at Smyle.

Despite this, the agency is seeing a trend towards innovative, immersive storytelling activations that people can experience together.

“We are in the midst of creating an event experience that merges narrative film and motion-controlled interactivity in a sound and light controlled on-site environment,” he adds.

According to Callner, this is experience is like “walking into a fully realised multiplayer game.”

“It’s about merging physical and digital in a live metaverse-style experience.”
