Merlin Entertainments has decided to re-invent its London Dungeon by moving the visitor attraction and event space to the underground vaults of County Hall on the South Bank.

Its new home, which will be opened in March 2013, will place the attraction nearby to Merlin’s EDF Energy London Eye and Sealife London Aquarium.

The all new attraction represents a multi-million pound investment by the owners and will bring 1,000 years of authentic London history to life.

New shows will be permed by actors playing villains and blaggards and there will also be more theatrical costumes and special effects and two rides.

“The attraction’s business has grown as clients realised the value for money the venue offers with the inclusion of a 20 minute live horror show and two rides for events,” said General Manager of Merlin Events London, Michael Aldridge.  “With the multi-million pound investment and central location at Waterloo I expect the event business will continue to grow.”

Guests will be guided through plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s medieval gates.
