Following a £3m modernisation project, Mercure Manchester Piccadilly, has introduced a new leadership and employee model with 53 new conference, events, and hotel staff.

Stephen Cox (pictured left) has been appointed as conference & events operations manager and Dhiraj Kumar (pictured right) as head chef.

Cox has already overhauled the hotel’s conference and events offering, and VenueVerdict scores are now consistently achieving 9/10, setting the stage for his goal to attain Gold status within the year. He said: “I look forward to leading our talented new team to enhance our Meetings & Events services and exceed the expectations of our guests.”

Kumar, with more than two decades of experience working with major hotel brands, brings a wealth of culinary knowledge and creativity. His expertise in crafting top-tier catering experiences should further enhance the property’s events services and menus.

Andrew Krawec, general manager of Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, said: “Both appointments will push our events and catering offerings to the next level.”
