Mash Media has partnered with travel demand management platform ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ to make its upcoming shows and events, such as the CN Sustainability Summit and International Confex, more sustainable.
Managing emissions from visitor travel is one of the events industries’ biggest challenges, according to Chris Thompson (pictured), chief executive officer, ‘You. Smart. Thing.’.
“International Confex allows us to regroup as a sector, discuss, and set the agenda for how we can lead the world in addressing the climate change emergency whilst enhancing revenue opportunities and visitor experience,” he said.
Reducing carbon footprint
‘You. Smart. Thing.’ technology aims to enhance visitor experience and increases revenues whilst reducing the disproportionate carbon footprint created by visitor travel.
The ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ travel assistant interface can also be embedded in CRM systems, mobile apps, web and social media.
“As we strive towards creating a show that is as sustainable as possible, International Confex is delighted to announce this partnership with the ‘You. Smart. Thing.’
“Its technology will offer all visitors and exhibitors a personalised low-carbon travel plan to the event, giving them smartest route possible and helping us collect data to go into our post-show sustainability report. It’s an exciting step forward for the show and our industry,” added Jack Newey, portfolio director, Conference News and International Confex.
The CN Sustainability Summit will take place 19 October 2022 at 15Hatfields and International Confex will take place 1-2 March 2023 at ExCeL London.
