Marriott’s St Pierre hotel awarded training excellence award

The Monmouthshire Business Awards has awarded St Pierre, A Marriott Hotel & Country Club the Training and Excellence in People Development human resources award.
 
Almost 200 guests, including representatives of Monmouthshire County Council, Economy, Science and Transport Minister Edwina Hart, Monmouth MP David Davies and Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay, attended the black-tie event, which is now in its second year.
 
The hotel and country club, which also hosted the annual awards, was recognised for its consistent demonstration of measurable personal development for its 200 members of staff or associates, from apprenticeships to permance review at the highest levels. Every new recruit or associate receives a comprehensive induction to the business and ongoing development opportunities of the highest level and there is a similar strategy available to those taking on management roles.  
 
“Winning this prestigious award is really important to us and I am proud of the recognition we received for the great training and development that we provide for our employees, as well as the support available here for their development for future roles,” says Director of Human resources across St Pierre and Marriott Swindon, Lisa Baker.
 
St Pierre, A Marriott Hotel & Country Club, was commended for the 40 hours a year it dedicates to training for each manager and 32 hours for all other associates. Length of service, birthdays and ‘spirit to serve’, which is monitored via customer service feedback, are recognised throughout the year with associate of the month, supervisor/deputy of the quarter and manager of the quarter rewards. The annual St Pierre Oscars are also a highlight for staff.
